It’s Movember at Brown Bag Films!

It’s that time of year again at Brown Bag where we  say goodbye to any facial hair we had and start growing  fabulous new moustaches again.

This is the second year we’ve done Movember in BBF and it certainly won’t be our last. Though the cold season has begun (well, does it ever really end in Ireland?!) we have braved the frostbite to our upper lips and wiped away former traces of  face fungus as we begin to grow a new misplaced eyebrow.

There are lots of different types of soup strainers as shown below, and we all have our favourites though most of us can’t grow them so have to stick with what we can!

Movember

Here’s we are – The Fan-tashe-tic Mr Foxes –  after a week of growth!

Though not visable to the naked eye, YES Kevin does actually have one!!!
Matt(Matthew started behind so is noticably upset by the lack of upper lip plumage)

So why the lip tickler?

Well it’s all for a fan-tashe-tic cause raising much needed funds and awareness for men’s health - specifically prostate cancer.

After raising nearly 500 euro last year for the cause we plan to do even better this year. So please read below and support the Mo Bro’s.

What many people don’t appreciate is that men have a 1 in 12 chance of developing prostate cancer during the course of their lifetime and that prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men, after skin cancer, in Ireland. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved and I am hoping that you will support me.

The more that join us, the more we can change the face of men’s health through raising awareness and the money that will be raised. Let’s do this, register and grow a moustache as a Mo Bro, or sign on as a Mo Sista.

To join this Movember team go to http://ie.movember.com/register/35375 and follow the steps. Once registered you’ll be sent all the information you need to get growing.

2009 is Movember’s second  year in Ireland. If you are interested in learning more about the work that is being carried out as a result of Movember funds, check out the details at http://ie.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs
