I read an article on the Empire website about the new ‘Clash of the Titans’ movie. It was mentioned that it was a film that justified a re-make because even at the time the original movie’s special effects were ropey. Though I agree that it’s a movie perfectly suited to a souped-up CGI version and could definitely be improved upon…..still I can’t help feeling the need to defend a movie I absolutely loved at a kid. And to also look back on the other top 12 (pre-CGI) Special Effects movies that captured my imagination growing up.

12. Original Plant to the Apes: Face it, people in monkey suits never gets old. For the time the prosthetic make-up was truly amazing, and the re-make holds little charm in comparison

So this is what music looks like..
Without breaking into a modified chorus of Wet Wet Wet, you might never realise just how much animation is all around you.
And its pretty powerful stuff – I’m an audio guy so I won’t claim to offer any revolutionary insights into the art of animation – but i do know it can educate, make us laugh,cry, cause massive uproar (flick down a few pages to the interesting stuff!), tell a story or just entertain for a few minutes of the day….and it even makes pretty rubbish songs bearable. All these things combine to make some fairly memorable moments in music video history.

Saturday mornings….but not as I remember them!
I recently had the pleasure (?) of waking up at around 7am on a Saturday morning. The only reason I could think of that vaguely warranted getting up this early was having to go to work, but this wasn’t the case (at least on this particular weekend). Then a vague childhood memory slowly crept into my subconscious that some may be familiar with….waking up early on a Saturday, creeping down to the living room and watching hours of Saturday morning cartoons whilst consuming your own body-weight in cereal. Sound familiar?!
